Let’s face it. We’re too busy. The fact that you decided to read this article tells me that you’re looking for a solution to all the noise. The problem most of us wrestle with is trying to get everything done and having no time left over for the things that really satisfy our souls.

There is a solution.

As a matter of fact, you can start today and get relief today. There’s a few principles I’m gonna share in this post that, if you apply them right away, will actually change the direction of your life and your business.

Let’s jump right in!

First, accept the fact that it’s not all going to get done today. We’ve tried that before… several times and it just doesn’t work. So we’re going to need to prioritize with what’s most important.

How do we know what that is?

Well, there’s a cause and effect that often eludes us when we’re deciding this. If we say for example, “My family is most important, so I’ll just stay home with them all day.” Then we can’t pay our bills and will end up seeing way less of our family and letting them down.

So we need to split up our priorities into our motivations and our results.

Our motivations, are probably things like spending time with family, having an impact on the world, being independent enough to travel and experience more with friends.

Our results on the other hand are accomplished by looking at what we’re currently doing (and maybe not doing) and setting aside 80% of those tasks to focus on the 20% that have the biggest bang for the buck.

If you’re in business, it’s normally talking to the right customers about their biggest pain and your specific solution.

Read that last sentence again and ask yourself, how can I get in front of the right customers (plural) and have a conversation about what keeps them awake at night and how your solution (or future solution) is a perfect solution for them.

Now let’s talk logistics.

How can we talk with multiple potential customers about their problems? The answer, webinars. This doesn’t need to be a formally structured 5 part course, it can simply be a Google Hangout set up for later today after pointing a facebook ad to the registration page a few hours earlier.

If you have an email list, you may want to send that a survey and then set up a call with them.

Here’s a gold nugget.

Less is more post-itPart of dealing with the ‘right customers’ means knowing what their problems are, how to solve them and provide massive value and them being able to see and afford that value.

So let’s get focused. Write an all inclusive to do list. Everything you can think of that needs to be done. Then take the top three things on that list that will have the biggest impact on your business and write them on three separate post-it notes.

Now take the first list and put it in a drawer.

Put the three post-it notes up on your computer in order of biggest impact and just focus on them. You’ll be amazed at the results.
