What if my ad sucks?




Hey guys, this is Mike from Epicmarketer.com.

And in this video I want to talk to you about what to do if your ad sucks.

So most of people that are on my list are either trying to build an email list in order to sell those subscribers things, or they’re running ads to try and sell either their own products or affiliate products.

And the challenge is, you know, if you have, for example, a landing page or squeeze page that converts at 10 or 15%, then it’s really hard to make money from that.

And it’s actually really frustrating because you’re sending a lot of people, they’re not getting enough of them on your list.

Okay, it’s it really slows down your progress.

The second thing is if you’re running an ad, and you’re going from paid traffic to an offer, and it only converts at say, 1%, then what happens is you’re either breaking even, which is really dangerous, because your ads are normally going to fatigue over time, or you’re actually losing money, which is not where you want to be by any means.

So the solution for both of these is to a create a better offer page, which I’m going to show you some great strategies that are very practical in a second.

And the second solution is to add an exit pop up.

So first, let me talk about the actual offer page.

So I made a little demo here.

And there’s three main factors that will increase your conversion rate exponentially.

So the first one is going to be the offer itself, it’s got to be easy to understand and attractive to your audience.

So if you’re selling steak to vegetarians, it’s the wrong audience.

But if you’re selling steak to meat eaters, then you have to do a good job of showing them why yours is better.

Whether it’s grass fed, it’s organic, it’s fresher, you know, show them videos of you cooking it and people trying it and loving it.

That’s all easy to understand and attractive, right?

The second thing is the proof, it’s got to be easy to believe that it’ll work for them.

So if you think of these companies that sell how to get in shape, they always have testimonials of the people and they show before and after of the guys that were fat, or the girls that were fat.

And now they’re healthy, and they look great.

So that when you watch your thinking in your brain, hey, that guy looks like me, or at least he used to.

And I want to look like how he looks now.

So maybe if it worked for him, it will work for me.

And then the third thing is the scarcity.

They need a reason to buy right now if they don’t, they won’t.

So think deadlines.

So when you’re promoting your offer, if you put a simple countdown like this, this is actually an animated GIF.

Even if you don’t say, hey, this offer goes away in four minutes or whatever.

Simply having that that countdown will trigger people’s flight or flight reflex.

And if you combine your scarcity with a solid guarantee, like hey, if you don’t love it in the next 30 days, simply email me here.

And I’ll give you a no questions asked refund.

Okay, when you do that, you will increase your conversions exponentially.

Now, if you combine this with an exit pop up, now you’re talking about increasing your conversions.

A lot of times for opt ins, it goes up 20 to 30%.

And if you do it on a sales page, you double or triple your sales.

So let me show you what it looks like when you’re on the page.

And somebody goes to leave that exit pop up will show up.

Now I’m using exit pop up magic.

And you can do this with any page you want to show up, including a video, which is a great idea, especially if you have a video that will autoplay because you can have that audio factor that will say, you know, hey, before you go, I’ve got a quick offer for you or I’ve got some other details.

Now, let me give you five different strategies to help you with your exit offer.

The first one and this is kind of a go to for a lot of people is to simply offer them a discount, hey, before you go, how about a 10% discount?

You know, give me your email address, and I’ll send you the coupon code.

That’s okay and that works, but it’s kind of short sighted.

So instead, what I would recommend is using one of these other four methods.

The first one is a free trial.

So if you’re offering software, for example, and it’s 30 bucks a month, you know, and you start right now you get billed right away at 30 bucks a month.

Some people will watch that and the proof won’t be strong enough or the offer won’t be strong enough or maybe they want to compare with a competitor.

And when you have an exit pop up that says hey, before you go How about trying it out for 30 days or for two weeks or whatever, as a free trial to see for yourself how you like it, then a lot of people will take action on that and because you didn’t offer it upfront, you’re going to generate more money up front.

The second one is to share for a discount.

So what I mean by that is, when you have that exit pop up, it’ll say, hey, before you go, if you click this link and share this offer on Facebook, we’ll give you a discount, or we’ll give you a bonus, or will give you a free trial.

That’s a very powerful one.

Because not only does it get you a sale right away, it also gets you exposure to that person’s audience on Facebook or Twitter or wherever you’re having them share it.

Okay, the third or the Yeah, the third one here is the surprise bonus.

And so with that one, if you already have a bonus that everybody gets, once they buy, and you don’t tell them about it, because you want to give them a more reason to like you and to not ask for a refund.

Then on your exit pop up, what you can do is you can say hey, before you go, I want to let you know that right now we’re including a surprise bonus, I was going to just give this to you, once you, you know, took action and bought.

But because you’re getting ready to go, I want to let you know, so you don’t miss out.

Here’s what it is, by the way, if you decide this isn’t for you, and you take me up on my guarantee to get a refund, you still get to keep the bonus.

So very, very powerful.

And then the last one is the push pull method.

So with this one, typically your marketing is either going to be going towards pleasure or away from pain.

So either Hey, look great on the beach, or Hey, stop being fat and you know, dislike and how you look on the beach, right?

So when you do an exit offer, what you want to do is you want to switch gears, because the people that are leaving your site before they buy are are possibly not motivated by whichever method you’re starting with.

So in other words, hey, avoid this pain.

Maybe they’re strong willed, and they’re like, well, I don’t need that.

But then when you do an exit pop up, and you say, hey, wouldn’t you like to look great?

Wouldn’t you like to be stronger? Then they’re going? Yeah, yeah, that’s me.

So now you’re speaking my language.

So these strategies work great, they will exponentially increase your conversion rate and your profit and reduce your risk.
